Brenda Grace Parrish, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home in Ocilla, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Big Creek Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Ike Thomas, the Rev. Harris Johnson and Bobby Mulkey officiating. Interment will follow in the Big Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services in the sanctuary of the church.
Mrs. Parrish was born November 2, 1942, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late James & Varnell Harper Pope. She graduated from Irwin County High School in 1960. She was a homemaker, a bank teller for First National Bank in Fitzgerald and she also worked for Doc’s Credit Jewelry. Mrs. Parrish enjoyed baking, working in her flower gardens and bird watching. Mrs. Parrish was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and sharing her talent.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Parrish of Fitzgerald; her children: Ronny & Malissa Parrish of Abbeville and Wally & Denise Parrish of Nashville; grandchildren: Jamie Parrish of Ocilla and Clayton & Carrie Parrish of Abbeville; great-grandchildren: Daisy Powell, Kenneth Bridges, Jack Parrish and Beau Parrish; a sister, Marsha & Phillip Rosson of Derby, Kansas; and a brother, Jim & Tammy Pope of Fort Gaines, Georgia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
