BELMONT --- Victor “Bud” Burton Walker, Jr., 83, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH, with his wife by his side. Bud loved life and was determined to live.
Bud was born on December 19, 1941, in Laconia, NH, the son of the late Victor Walker, Sr., and Dorthy Walker.
Bud entered the US Air force after graduating from Franklin High School. He graduated from Plymouth State (College) University. He retired in 2007 after working 25 years as a postal clerk in Ashland, NH.
Bud enjoyed caring for his cats. He enjoyed reading and watching the news channels and financial shows. Bud will be remembered by his neighbors for his willingness to mow their lawns or help with shoveling.
Bud is survived by his loving wife, of 35 years, Brenda (Thompson) Walker; sister Janie Piper, of Tilton, NH; brother Jim Walker, of Franklin, NH. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, some of them being, Jaime Fontanazza, of Hockessen, DE, Todd Piper, of Concord, NH, and Brandy Sharp and her husband Michael, were of immense support and comfort to Bud during his battles with cancer. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Rosanna Thompson and her partner Russell Johnson, who also were very helpful throughout Bud’s battles. Bud thanked them for caring for our cats and our home while he had treatments.
Bud was grateful to his primary doctor at Dartmouth Hitchcock, Dr. Alec Bernard, and Dr. Crow at NH Oncology, in Concord. Your care always provided him with “options.”
We are grateful to Granite VNA homecare health workers who were instrumental in allowing Bud to live and enjoy life.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday June 25, 2025 from 5:00pm-7:00pm in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoenau-Paquette, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A private family burial will be held at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, in Boscawen, NH.
