Leanore Frances "Lea" (King) Leger, 84, of Tiverton, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at home. She was the wife of the late Donald Edward Leger, Sr., they were married for 58 years.
Born in Providence, RI, daughter of the late Harry Gordon King, Sr. and the late Eleanore F. (Cimaglia) King, she was a lifelong resident of Tiverton. Prior to retirement, she worked as a cook for A & F Vending in Fall River. She had previously worked as a baker at Muffin King and also in the cafeteria for Tiverton Elementary School, where she loved interacting with the school children. Mrs. Leger loved cooking Italian food and baking delicious desserts along with her famous chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed camping and swimming all summer at Stafford Pond and playing cribbage, where she usually won with a great big smile. Lea loved going on road trips with her husband and stopping at casinos along the way.
She was a very caring and giving person and would do anything to help family and friends. Her greatest passion was keeping family close. Over the years she would have large outdoor family gatherings. All of her family and friends would come and enjoy tons of food, games, laughter, have fun and create memories that will last forever in our heart and minds.
Survivors include 3 children: Donna Lea Bento of Tiverton, Donald Edward Leger, Jr. and his wife Rosa of South Carolina and Dean Albert Leger of Tiverton; 6 grandchildren: Crystal Leger, Shauna-Lea Leger-King, Ryan Bento, April Bento, Landon Leger and Adam Leger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was mother of the late David John Leger and his late wife Stacy and sister of the late Harry Gordon King, Jr., Eugene R. King, Sr., Richard W. King, Kathy C. Borges and Lorie Koch.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 - 8 P.M.
Interment in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton.
