WESTBROOK-Robert Omer Charest

Robert Omer Charest, 86 of Westbrook, Maine, passed away at Springbrook Center (Westbrook, ME) due to natural causes on June 12th 2025.
He was born on 11/07/1938 to parents Omer and Lea Charest. Robert graduated from Cheverus High School and soon after attended a local college. After college Robert joined the Marine Corp where he later on became part of the Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance (FORE-CON) special forces unit.
Years later, Robert returned back to the states to start his career in sales and eventually start a family.
Robert was a devoted and loving father to his son Christopher, who dearly misses him.
Robert took great pride in Christopher's athletics. Attending almost every football practice and games. Robert years later joined the coaching staff for the Southern Maine Raging Bulls (Semi-Pro football).
Robert was preceded in the death by Omer Charest (father), Lea Fecteau Charest (mother), Gloria Charest-Welch (sister), Anita Charest-Knowles (sister), Rachel Charest-Foley (sister), Thomas (Tommy) Charest (brother).
Robert is survived by Constance Lagasse (sister), Philippe Joseph Anthony Lagasse (brother-In-law), Christopher Robert Charest (son), Jennifer Anne Charest (daughter in-law).
Robert will be laid at rest Togus National Cemetery (723 Hallowell Rd, Togus, ME 04330). Date of service will be announced at a later date.
Donations in Roberts name may be made to Special Olympics and Southern Maine Detachment of the Marine Corps League.
