Marguerite A. “Peggy” Gould, 87, of Village Drive, Smithfield, died Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence with her family by her side. She was the wife of Arthur F. Gould. They had been married for 65 years.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Marguerite (Spencer) Salisbury. Marguerite was a lifelong resident of Smithfield.
She had worked at the former Almac’s in Greenville and later Stop & Shop in Greenville. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, spending time with her family and friends but most especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children: Kevin A. Gould and his wife, Judy (Gagne) Gould, of North Providence, Jacqueline A. Flynn, and her fiancé, David Groccia of North Providence, Christopher J. Gould, and his wife, Christine (McWilliams) Gould of North Smithfield and Brian T. Gould and his wife , Kelley (Fagnant) Gould of Smithfield and her grandchildren : Kyle and Adam Flynn, Kayla Trufan and her husband, Scott, Bradley Gould, Torilynn Gould and her partner, Demetri Aywas, Meghan Gould and her husband, Dariusz Puzanowski and Tyler Gould and her three great grandchildren: Aryia Gould, Lucas and Layla Aywas. She was the sister of the late Jacqueline and Robert J. Salisbury.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Burial will be in Highland Park, Johnston. Visitation Wednesday, June 18, 2025, 4-7pm.
