Francis X. Potito, age 86, recently of Lowell, a former longtime Wakefield resident, passed away peacefully at Belvidere Healthcare Center in Lowell, on Friday, June 13, 2025.
Born in Everett on May 10, 1939, he was the son of the late Frank Potito and the late Amelia (Nigro) Potito.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a pressman for the Acme Printing Company.
Frank was an extremely proud Dad and was there for anyone that needed a hand. He truly had a heart of gold. He enjoyed fishing as often as he could and playing horseshoes, especially with his longtime friend Jim Keene. He was a passionate Boston sports fan and would either listen or watch games while yelling at the announcers and players. His grandkids meant the world to him, and he enjoyed sharing his love of fishing, “real” moccasins and Meletharb’s ice-cream with them.
He is survived by two children, Robert S. Potito and his wife Stacey, of Tewksbury, and Michele Lawhorn, of Seville, OH: four grandchildren, Jessica & Nicole Potito, Samantha White, and Andrew Ladouceur. He was the brother of Kenneth J. Potito and his wife Florence, of Kennebunk, ME and the late Ronald A. Potito and his late wife Carol.
Calling hours are Thursday, June 19, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, immediately followed by prayers to be offered at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
