Margaret "Peggy" Brown, 76, of Winchester, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on October 29, 1948, in Winchester, Peggy was a graduate of Winchester High School class of 1966. She remained a proud Massachusetts resident throughout her life, raising her family in Woburn before returning to Winchester in her later years.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents, Margaret (O`Donnell) and Donald Pooler, brothers Donald Jr., Larry and Ray as well as sisters Maureen (Pooler) Berlandi and Patricia (Pooler) Lovering.
Peggy is survived by her four devoted children: Jennifer (Brown) Valentin and her husband Keith of Manchester, NH; Vincent Brown and his wife Michelle of Wilmington; Melissa Brown of Wakefield; and Angela Brown and her husband Brian of Boston. She was a beloved grandmother "Mammy" to Alessandra Gadowski and her fiancé Robert Holland II of Woburn, and a proud great-grandmother to Junior "RH3" and Connor Holland. She also leaves behind her twin sister Anne (Pooler) Priante and her husband Stephen of Florida, brother Wayne Pooler of Alabama and sister Dorothy (Pooler) Walker of Melrose as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Peggy was known for her strength, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her family. She did whatever she needed to do to provide for her children, showing up with resilience and fierce love every step of the way. She had a sharp mind and a big heart, and her presence was both steady and unforgettable. Peggy had a lifelong love of sports, whether coaching her children, or watching the pros on TV, her competitive spirit and enthusiasm for the game were constants in her life. And so was yelling at the TV when her favorite Bruins or Red Soxs were losing!
Peggy was also an avid reader who found joy in a good book, whether sunbathing with a novel in hand or curled up in her favorite chair on a rainy afternoon. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: her morning tea, an afternoon Dunkin` Donuts run, and her Pepsi—never Coke. These little rituals were part of what made her so beloved by those who knew her best.
Tough, stoic, and unapologetically honest. Peggy made sure everyone around her knew how she felt—whether through her words or the unmistakable look in her eyes. Her honesty, loyalty, and love shaped the lives of her family and left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Thursday June 26th, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
