Wade Bryant, 85, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, June 14, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Pastor Larry Davis and the Rev. Billy Lusk officiating. His nephew, David Sumner, will give the eulogy. Interment will follow in Brushy Creek Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Bryant was born April 16, 1940, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Homer Wade & Betty Elizabeth Ring Bryant. He was a 1959 graduate of Irwin County High School. He farmed with his family at a young age and worked for Tri-County Gas. He later worked for Rainbow Irrigation and Chaney Bush for many years. He retired from Coachmen Industries with 28 years of service. Mr. Bryant enjoyed fishing and being with his family and friends. He enjoyed tinkering on cars and trucks. He believed in a firm handshake and many will remember his strong grip in greeting you. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ann Lusk Bryant; sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis & Missi Bryant of Sylvester, Terry Wade & Marissa Bryant of Lowndes County, and Gary & Gina Bryant of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Shannon, Michael, Brandon, Jessica, Cheyanne, Emily, Karagan, Kenneth, Krista, Melissa, Misty and Kristy; great-grandchildren: Clair, Gabby, Imani, Trinity, Axl, Ava, Wyatt, Austin, Colt, Cody, Conner, Jackson, and Matthew; a sister, Betty Ruth Bryant Sumner of Irwin County; a brother, Wenzel Bryant of Ocilla; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ednora Bryant Davis; and two brothers: Charles Bryant and Eulace Bryant.
