Obituary

Thomas A. Hatfield, of Duxbury, 66, on August 19th following complications of Parkinson's Disease. Mr. Hatfield spent his entire business career in the banking field specializing in security and anti-fraud measures. He joined the Suffolk Franklin Bank following graduation from Curry College and service in the U.S Army Reserves. As a result of numerous bank combinations and acquisitions he subsequently served in security management positions with Shawmut Corporation and South Boston Savings Bank. Following retirement, he joined a consulting practice providing security and protection training to New England banks and financial institutions. Mr. Hatfield was a member of the Kingston Lions Club for almost 30 years, serving as Treasurer for all of those years until his recent resignation due to illness. He was an active member of the Holy Family Parish in Duxbury. Born in Brockton, MA in 1940, he was the son of the late Albert E. and Susan Goodwin Hatfield of Brockton and Duxbury. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Louise Saviski Hatfield of Brockton and Duxbury and his sister, Susan H. Dwyer of West Simsbury, CT and Duxbury. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sophie Saviski of Brockton, a nephew Timothy J. Dwyer and his wife Ivana of Avon, CT and his niece, Susan Kara and her husband John Fitzgibbon of Weston, MA in addition to 3 grand nieces and 1 grand nephew. Friends and relatives may call at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St, N. Plymouth on Tuesday, August 22nd between 9:30 and 10:30 AM prior to a funeral Mass at Holy Family Church in Duxbury at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Kingston Lions Club or to the National Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 NW 9th Ave, Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494.
