Morrie B. (Williams) Johnson, 100, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9th, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a cherished legacy through her two sons, Ronald S. Johnson and Juan R. Johnson, both of Worcester; her daughter, Robin A. Tucker, and her significant other, Clarence Buggs, also of Worcester; 25 beloved grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 36 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Alfred K. Johnson, Sr.; her son, Alfred K. Johnson, Jr.; her daughter, Cheryl A. Wilcox; two brothers, Lindsey Williams, Jr. and Henry Williams; and three sisters, Marian Williams, Mildred Whitten, and Ethel Brown.
Born in Hephzibah, Georgia, Morrie was the daughter of Lindsey and Ethel (Wyley) Williams. She relocated to Massachusetts in 1947, where she built a beautiful life centered on family, hard work, and community. Over the years, she dedicated herself professionally at Phalo Corporation, Dana Corporation, and Becker College, where she worked in housekeeping until her well-earned retirement in 1999.
A devoted member of Second Baptist Church, Morrie found joy and strength in her faith and the fellowship of her church community. She had a deep passion for dancing and was a spirited fan of New England sports, especially the Boston Celtics. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, who remained the heart of her life.
Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, June 17th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 18th at 11:00 AM at Second Baptist Church, 14 Hammond Street, with a calling hour beginning at 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
