Pauline R. Heckathorne, Centenarian, Died Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Catholic Medical Center following a period of declining health.;
She was born in Manchester on January 18, 1925 the daughter of Henri and Amanda (Isabelle) Bergeron. She was a singer in the USO where she met her husband of 52 years who was serving in the Air Force. She loved music, dancing, camping, traveling and shopping.
Prior to her retirement she was a Dental assistant for Dr. Roger Bergeron and Dr. Roger Houle.
She was a member of the Legion of Mary and a longtime parishioner of St. Peter Church since 1973. She attended Mass daily and donated her time visiting nursing homes where she assisted in distributing the Eucharist to residents.
She was predeceased by her husband, Russell Heckathorne in 1998 and one son, Fr. Brad Heckathorne OFM in 2020.
She was devoted to her family and made a special effort to attend birthday parties and special events. One of her happiest times was her surprise 100th birthday party. Family members include two daughters; Diana Perry and her husband, Joseph of Freedom NH and Florida, Susan Sanborn and her husband, Bruce of Rochester, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will take place on Monday, June 23, 2025 from 5 to 7 pm at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 10 am in St. Peter Church, Auburn.
Committal prayers will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
