Obituary

Eleanor Dunn of Medford, passed away peacefully on June 7, at the age of 89 at home lovingly surrounded by her nieces. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen Dunn of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Medford. She was the dear sister of the late Joan Welch and her husband Bob.
She is survived by her loving nieces Ellyn Welch Carrabis and her husband Pat of Saugus, Kathy Welch of Malden, Dianne Welch McDonough and her husband Scott of Twin Mountain, NH, Eileen Welch DiSisto and her husband Bill of Middleton, and Tricia Appe of Malden.
She is also survived by her adoring great nieces and nephews Jenna and Jared Carrabis, Meghan and Haley McDonough, and Dylan and Tyler DiSisto to whom she was affectionately known as Auntie Pal.
She is also survived by her devoted cousins Celine Hubbard, Marie Hunt, Bette Hickey, Paul Molloy, and many more loving cousins both here and back in Newfoundland. She was also the loving godmother to Paul Molloy, Ellyn Carrabis, and Celine Crespi-Hunt and took her role as godmother as the highest honor.
Eleanor worked for the phone company for many years and upon retiring she went to work in the parish rectory for Immaculate Conception Parish in Revere where she remained until the Covid pandemic. She was also a Eucharistic minister at St Francis of Assisi in Medford, where she also volunteered many hours. In her later years, Eleanor thoroughly enjoyed her time vacationing in Naples, FL with her sister Joan, brother-in-law Bob, and her Mom. Eleanor lived a life full of family, love, laughter, and faith. She will be greatly missed by all whose life she touched. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Friday June 20th at 9 AM followed by her Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday June 19th from 4-7 PM.
