Obituary

February 23, 1944 – June 8, 2025

Tewksbury – Carol Ann Woodruff, 81, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.

Born in Newton on February 23, 1944, Carol was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Hamil) Kelley. She later made her home in Tewksbury with her beloved husband, Larry, where they raised their family and shared over 58 years of love and partnership, having married in March 1967.

A devoted homemaker, Carol’s heart was always with her family. She had a special love for her dogs and found deep joy in tending her garden, where she welcomed birds, butterflies, and bunnies – any creature that wandered in was met with delight. Her garden was a peaceful haven, a reflection of her gentle spirit. She especially cherished weekends in Rockport with family, savoring beach days and lobster dinners by the shore.

Carol was a longtime parishioner of Saint William’s Parish in Tewksbury, where her quiet faith was a steady presence in her life.

She is survived by her loving children, Michael Woodruff and his wife Patricia of Southbridge, and Bonnie Krueger and her husband Mark of Ayer; and her adored grandchildren, Gabrielle, Emily, and Kyle Woodruff, and Megan and Ashley Krueger.

Carol also leaves behind her siblings: Bradley Kelley and his wife Judith of New Jersey, Joyce Kelley-Kramer and her husband Ronald of North Carolina, Donald Kelley and his wife Jayne of Florida, and Richard Kelley of Gloucester. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, including her cousin Gail Cramer, who was like a sister to her throughout her life.

Carol’s gentle spirit and quiet strength will be deeply missed. Her memory will live on in every passing butterfly and in the hearts of those who loved her.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Saint William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Tewksbury, followed by a procession to Lowell Cemetery. Please meet directly at church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s memory may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation.
