Obituary

THOMPSON – Cynthia J. (Chapman) Gaboury, 75, died Saturday, June 7, 2025 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester.

She leaves her husband of 58 years, Clarence C. “Cliff” Gaboury; a son, Dean C. Gaboury of Thompson; a daughter, Kim M. Gaboury of Danielson; 3 grandchildren, Zachary Gaboury and his wife Nicole, and Cody Gaboury, all of Pennsylvania, and Shana Orrell and her husband Christopher of Thompson; 4 great-grandchildren Ayden, Gabriel, Thomas and Kira; a sister, Theresa Anderson of Dudley; her in-laws, Joan McCleary, Francis Girardin, Paul Gaboury and Norman Gaboury; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her 2 sisters Pamela and Faye, and by her in-laws Delia Rousseau and Mildred Wonoski.

She was born on December 9, 1949 in Webster and raised in Oxford, the youngest of the 5 children of Harold S. Chapman, Sr. and Rita M. (Suprenant) Chapman and graduated from Oxford High School in 1967. She lived in Thompson for most of her life.

Mrs. Gaboury worked as a border framer and then as a butt welder at Webster Spring Company, later known as Legett & Platt in Webster. She retired as a quality control inspector in 2015.

She enjoyed fresh water and deep-sea fishing, baking, playing pitch, and she also deeply enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren, family and friends. She ran the pitch league at the TSKK in Webster for 20 years.

A celebration of her life will be held on July 12, from 4:00 to 9:00PM at Kim’s house in Danielson. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, MA.
