Obituary

Son Dang Trinh, 81, of Worcester passed away peacefully on Monday evening, June 9th, 2025 after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Kim Loan Tran; his three loving sons, Hung Trinh, Hai Trinh and his wife, Tammy Ngo, Hoa Trinh; his loving daughter Thao Trinh; and his cherished grandchildren Tracy and Jayden Trinh.

Son was born in Hon Gay, Vietnam, the son of late Thuyen Van Trinh and Soan Thi Trinh. Son served as a Major in the South Vietnamese Army. In 1990, Son and his family immigrated to Worcester where they have resided for the past 35 years. During his career, Son worked at several manufacturing companies as a machine operator.

Son was a wonderful, loving father devoted to his children, grandchildren and respected by all who knew him. He was a member and attended Our Lady of Vilna Church. Son was a hardworking father who found joy in sharing his passion with others. Lovingly with his wife by his side, they worked and perfected the landscape on their property which included a bountiful vegetable and flower garden for all to enjoy. When he is not in the garden, he spent precious time with his grandchildren and loved watching a game of tennis or basketball. Family was his pride and joy.

Kind, generous, selfless, and deeply devoted to his loved ones, Son lived a happy and fulfilling life. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, June 14th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Vilna Church, 53 Sterling Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. Visiting hours are Friday, June 13th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
