Richard (Rick) A. Wells, 71, of Derry, NH, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025 peacefully surrounded by his family. Richard was raised in Cambridge, Ma by his late mother Shirley (Marland) Picard. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sandra (Burton) Wells of Derry and his three daughters, Dawn Fucile of Salem, NH, Kerri Guerin and her husband Michael Guerin of Quincy, MA, and Dori Wells of Salem, NH. He is also survived by his four grandchildren Gavin Fucile, Rhiannon Botelho, Declan Botelho and Jessica Botelho.
Rick served in the United States Air Force and prior to his passing he proudly volunteered at the Manchester VA Medical Center helping Veterans alike get to and from their medical appointments. Rick was a devoted husband and his love for Sandy was unconditional and unbreakable. He was a devoted and proud father to his three daughters; he was their biggest cheerleader, whether it was attending their sporting events, teaching them how to check their oil or change a tire or being that phone call when they just needed to talk about their day. He continued his love and support with his grandchildren, being the Papa that took them to school, dentist appointments, attending every football, baseball and softball games, chorus concerts and award ceremonies, rain or shine. Rick was so very proud of the family he and his loving wife Sandy created together.
Rick was the epitome of a family man, having grown up in a large family himself. Rick had five brothers, the late Robert Wells, Ernie Wells, Norman Picard, Joseph Picard and Stephen Picard and three sisters, Cynthia (Wells) Hugh, Jessica (Wells) Haigler and Laura (Picard) Farino. He also leaves behind his two sister-in-law's Robin Regal and Cheryl Lynch, along with many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends and his favorite cat Quinn.
Rick’s memory will be treasured by his wife, daughters, grandkids, extended family and friends, and all who were touched by his warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion.
