Thomas L. “Tom” Hawsey
June 2, 1944- June 10, 2025
Thomas L. “Tom” Hawsey, 81, of Anderson passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2025 at his residence.
He was born on June 2, 1944 in Pioneer, Louisiana to the late Thomas and Irene (Guice) Hawsey. He graduated from Epps High School in 1962 and earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Anderson University. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He worked at Guide Lamp for over 40 years and retired in 2008.
He was a member of East Side Church of God. He loved spending time with his family especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed watching sports, fellowship and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sheryl (Brock) Hawsey of Anderson whom he married on June 19, 1971; three children, Lori Lubs of Anderson , Robin (Rick) Cummings of Indianapolis, and Christopher (Megan ) Hawsey of Greenfield; a brother, Danny Hawsey of Monroe, Louisiana; a sister, Linda Sue (Walter) Smith of Oak Grove, Louisiana; eight grandchildren, Nathaniel Dustin (Lilly) Lubs, Austen (Maggie) Cummings, Jaksen Cummings, Raegan Cummings, Casey (Ellei) Phillips, Abby Phillips, Hannah Hawsey and Maddie Hawsey; four great-grandchildren, James Lubs, Layla Lubs, Nathaniel Lubs, and Violet Lubs; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Hawsey.
Funeral service will be at 4:00pm on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral
Service with Dr. Glendon Cox, Dr. Charles Shumate, and Rev. Johnny Cawthon officiating. A private burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery with military rites.
Visitation will be from 2:00pm -4:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Children of Promise, Madison County
Humane Society or the Animal Protection League.
