Mary L. (Brady) (Hamel) Wyman, age 82, a longtime Tewksbury resident passed away peacefully at her home in the care of her family and hospice on Monday, June 9, 2025.
She was the beloved wife of the late Horace Wyman.
Born in Sandwich, Massachusetts on November 26, 1942, she was the daughter of the late William E. Brady and the late Beulah (Nichols) (Brady) Logan.
Mary was raised on the family farm in Westford; she attended Westford schools and received her GED from Lowell High School in 1981.
She worked as a stitcher for the Casual Footwear Company, formerly of Lowell and later as an accounts payable clerk for the Purity Supreme Supermarket Company in Billerica and as a stocker at Walmart in Chelmsford until her retirement.
Mary loved attending her great grandchildren’s softball games, family outings to local restaurants and traveling with her family to Jamica where she had great fun horseback riding on the beach. In addition, she enjoyed playing Keno, Bingo and completing crossword puzzles.
Mary is the mother of Leo R. Hamel and his wife Karen, of New Durham, NH, the late Paul D. Hamel and his surviving wife Roberta, of Athol, and Donna L. Hamel and her husband Robert Roy, with whom Mary resided, of Billerica. She leaves thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Mary was the sister to the late Noreen Arcand, William, Robert, Carl, Clifford and Alinda Brady.
Calling hours are Monday, June 16, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, immediately followed by a prayer service to be held in the funeral home. Services will conclude with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, 96 Riverneck Road, Chelmsford.
