Phillip F. Chassey, Jr., age 90, of Taunton, formerly of Brockton, passed away on June 3, 2025, at his home. He was the beloves husband, friend, and companion of Paulette M. (Nutter) (Carlson) Chassey. Together for only 38 short years and was one of the greatest gifts from God.
Born in Brockton on May 6, 1935, he was the son of the late Philip F. Chassey, Sr. and Beatrice F. (Leach-Chassey) Savini.
Mr. Chassey was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1955, where he also played on the football team.
He was part of the Guarde d’Honneur Drill Team for ten years and served as captain of the team during the 1950’s and 1960’s. Phil was affiliated with the former Sacred Heart Church in Brockton.
Phillip was employed by American Biltrite, Inc. of Stoughton and Chelsea for over twenty-three years. He also worked at Industrial Blast Coil (IBC) in South Easton, where he retired after twenty-two years of dedicated service.
His interests include gardening, cooking, fishing, traveling, trips to Foxwoods, New England Patriots Football, going to the gym, Loon Pond Horseshoe Club, and having cookouts with family and friends.
Besides his wife, he leaves his sons, Phillip F. Chassey, III and his wife Debra of East Bridgewater, Craig Chassey and his late wife Mary of Brockton, and Chrstopher Chassey and his wife Julianne of San Antonio, TX; stepson Joel Carlson and his wife Ellen of Sandwich, MA; stepdaughter Joyce (Carlson) Barboza and her husband David of South Easton; granddaughter Kathlyn Chassey; grandsons Casey and Tyler Barboza, and Benjamin and Nathan Carlson; sister Janet (Chassey) Rowell; brother John Savini of Marshfield, his beloved dog Taffy and special friends Al and Rick. He was preceded in death by his son Mark J. Chassey; siblings Janice (Chassey) Poliseno, and June (Chassey) Anino all formerly of Brockton; and his former spouse Joan E. Foster-Chassey.
To honor the wishes of his family, all funeral services were privately held.
