Vanessa Alexander, 48, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, June 8th in UMass Memorial Hospital – University Campus. She leaves her three daughters, Amberli Alexander and her significant other, Matthew Morrison of Worcester, Katelynn Alexander and her significant other, Chris Rannikko of Worcester, and Angela Economou and her significant other, Misael Guzman of Hudson; three grandchildren, Michael, JJ, and Arya; her mother, Anaise Prudhomme of Louisiana; three brothers, Louis Frazier of Louisiana, Jonathan and William Frazier of Houston, TX; several nieces and nephews; and her grandpuppers, Rexy-Rex and Apollo. She was predeceased by her long-time companion Buckey Van Winkle.
She was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and later made her home in Massachusetts, where she lovingly built a life and started her family. A devoted mother and grandmother, Vanessa was the proud owner and operator of her own daycare for many years, nurturing countless children with care, patience, and kindness.
Vanessa had a deep love for all things Halloween—she delighted in decorating and fully embracing the spooky spirit of the season. A true horror movie enthusiast, she never missed an opportunity to enjoy a good scare. She also loved music and dancing and found great joy in visiting the many beautiful beaches along the coast. Most of all, Vanessa cherished the time spent with her family, especially during shared dinners and moments with her beloved grandchildren.
Known for her sharp wit and great sense of humor, Vanessa brought laughter and light into the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her devotion to family, and the joy she brought to everyday moments. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Her funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements.
