Obituary

Alfred “Al” Jacques Jr., of Whitman, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud veteran who left behind a legacy of strength, service, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Born to Gertrude (Rosa) and Alfred F. Jacques Sr., Al graduated from Boston Trade School in 1964 and soon after answered the call of duty by volunteering to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he built a distinguished career as a Naval Contracts Specialist at General Electric Aircraft Engines and Corbus, where he was admired for his integrity, precision, and strong work ethic.

In 1970, Al married the love of his life, Ann (Dzengelewski), and for 55 years together they built a life filled with warmth, laughter, and deep family roots in Whitman. They raised three children who were the pride of his life, and he later cherished his role as a grandfather, even more - finding great joy in spending time with his grandchildren. Al enjoyed camping trips, air shows, family fishing trips, and afternoons shooting BB guns.

Al was a man of integrity and discipline, admired for his strong work ethic and deep sense of responsibility, values he proudly passed down to his children. Whether at work, at home, or in his community, he lived by example, quietly showing others the importance of commitment, service, and love.

Al was predeceased by his brother Francis Jacques I, and his parents, Gertrude and Alfred Sr. He is survived by his beloved wife Ann; his son Michael and wife Deborah; son David and wife Bonnie; and daughter Amy Femino and husband Frank. He was a proud grandfather to Carrietta, Harris, David Jr., Victoria, Frank II, and Giuliana. Al is also survived by his sister Catherine Konarski and family, his brother Francis Jacques II and family, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, June 15th from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, MA.
