Obituary

Ikie Steverson, 77, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, June 8, 2025, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at New Testament Holiness Church in the Queensland community, with Sister Charlotte Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald as well as one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.

Mr. Steverson was born June 14, 1947, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Charlie & Sue Annie Branch Steverson. He was a truck driver for over 50 years and rode with the CB handle “Roadrunner”. He was a jokester and enjoyed riding his golf cart and his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen & Tim Barnes of Fitzgerald; two grandchildren: Timothy Barnes, Jr. and Kasey Barnes; one great-grandson, Dezmon Barnes and a great-granddaughter on the way; step-children: Teddy Allen (Leona) Jordan of Waynesville, Harley David Jordan of Fitzgerald, Pamela Kay Jordan of Fitzgerald, Donna Renee (Larry Wayne) Hogan of Cordele, Bobbie Jean “B.J.” Crawford of Fitzgerald, and Mary Ann Jordan of Albany; 19 step-grandchildren; 37 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Shealey of Fitzgerald; and three brothers: Elvis (Venice) Steverson and Royce Steverson, all of Fitzgerald, and Thomas Steverson of Irwin County. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marion “Worm” Steverson; a step-son, Freddy Lawrence Jordan; a step-daughter, Barbara Lynn Kennedy; and two brothers: Harvey Steverson and Jackie Steverson.
