Therese R. (Leydon) Campbell, age 81, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving and adoring family on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. “Jack” Campbell, Sr., to whom she was wed for sixty years at the time of his death on April 27, 2022.
Born in Boston, MA on October 14, 1943, she was a loving daughter of the late John Patrick and Rose Bridget (Shepard) Leydon.
Terri grew up in Somerville, was educated in Somerville schools and graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School in South Boston. She continued her education, attending Stonehill College in North Easton.
A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mrs. Campbell had made her home in Mansfield for the past fifty-five years. She was actively involved as a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield, serving as a former member of the Helping Hands Committee. Along with her late husband Jack, she volunteered her assistance at the Mansfield Food Pantry.
Terri’s love for family and loyalty to friends could be found in everything she did. With a big smile, she will always be remembered for her remarkable sense of humor, her artistical skills and the proudness she received making a real appearance as a commercial actress.
She is survived by her devoted children: John J. “Jack” Campbell and his wife Lucia of Naples, Florida, Michael F.X. Campbell and his wife Jenny of Los Angeles, California, Patrick W. Campbell of Mansfield, Erin R. Campbell and her companion Brian Carr of Mansfield and Katherine-Mary T. “Katy” Bouffard and her husband David of Plainville. She was the cherished grandmother of Matthew, Eric, Cullen, Jackson, Liam, Skyler, Garrett, Ryan and Nuala and the great grandmother of Beckett and Brody. She was the dear sister of John “Jack” Leydon and his wife Aurora of Winchester, Robert Leydon and his wife Carole of Melrose, her twin brother Francis Leydon of Melrose and the late Edward Leydon and his late wife Mary, Mary Ploughman and her late husband Chuck and William Leydon, who is survived by his wife Maureen of Dorchester. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, June 20th from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 Noon at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday at the conclusion of visitation at 12:00 Noon in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Therese’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to Our Daily Bread-Mansfield’s Food Pantry, 15A West Street, Mansfield, MA 02048.
