Ralph Pedersen was well-loved, and a friend to everyone he met. Ralph was born July 29, 1939 in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Arnold J. Pedersen and Dorothy E. Pedersen (nee Hubbard); he was the first of 6 siblings, followed by: Charlie, John, Nancy, Maggie and Barby.
Ralph attended Lowville Academy, Lowville, New York and graduated High School in 1957. From 1959 to 1963, he served his country as an Airman in the United States Air Force, Strategic Air Command, stationed at Columbus Air Force Base, Columbus, Mississippi. After completing his service, he attended Northeastern University, in Boston, where he met Martha Webber, his future wife.
After graduation, Ralph began his career at Boston City Hospital in 1965, where, in time, he would become the Chief of Special Procedures, Vascular Radiology. Ralph and Martha married in 1966, and raised a family in West Bridgewater, MA, surrounded by their friends Pat and Leo Cronin and their neighbors on Goldie Road.
Ralph loved his summers spent on the lake in Webster, MA, with Bruce, Peggy and the Wawela neighbors. Family and friends made many years’ of memories there: cookouts, tennis matches, cocktails overlooking the water, family dinners and a thousand special moments.
Ralph loved the White Mountains of New Hampshire as well, and spent many years hiking and skiing Mt. Washington Valley; he and Martha eventually retired and moved to North Conway.
Throughout his life, Ralph loved nature and animals, caring for many beloved pets, including several rescued over the years from the local shelter in Fryeburg, ME. He even befriended the chipmunks living in his yard in New Hampshire, and fed them nuts by hand on the deck, while the cats watched from inside the house.
Ralph and Martha lived out their retirement together for over 20 years, being together and seeing their daughters get married and raise families of their own, until Martha’s passing in October, 2023 after 57 years of marriage. After a life filled with the love of family and friends, Ralph was reunited with Martha on May 22, 2025.
He is survived by his loving daughters: Sarah Elizabeth Pedersen-Faria (and husband Scott); and Johanna Boucher (and husband Rich); and two loving grandchildren, Sophia Boucher & Elijah Faria.
Ralph is also survived by his siblings: Charlie Pedersen, John Pedersen, and Nancy Kosinski. He is together again with his sisters, Maggie Garren and Barby Szostakowski.
He will be interred in Bourne National Cemetery, in Bourne, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your local SPCA.
