BUXTON- Ruth Florence Tracy, age 85, passed away on June 3, 2025, after a period of declining health.
Ruth was born on August 12th, 1939, at the Buxton-Hollis Hospital in Hollis, a daughter of the late Donald and Margaret Eaton.
She attended the local elementary school and graduated from Buxton High School in 1957. She went to the Golden School of Beauty Culture and was a hairdresser for twenty-five years, working for others and later owning her own beauty shop. She also worked for Peoples Regional Opportunity Program, Regional Transportation, Maine National Bank, Martin’s Point Health Care and Sebago, Inc.
She is survived by her children- George Thibideau and his wife Barbara of FL, Dianne Nay and her husband John of Gray, Steven Thibideau of Hollis, and Michelle Fraser and her husband Jim of MA; grandchildren- Tiffany, Mandy, Shawn, Kayla, Derek, Lauren. Jeffrey, Allison, Ahslee, Karina, and Emily; eleven great grandchildren; two former daughters in law who have been by her side all their lives- June Gormley and Kelly Kelley; sisters- Joann and Jane.
Ruth is predeceased by her brothers- Frank, David and James.
Ruth’s family would like to give special thanks to her caretaker- Chloe, and the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for their care and support.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday June 13th from 4 - 6 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. Burial will be private amongst her family at South Buxton Cemetery.
