Obituary

TAUNTON — Donald Raleigh, 72, of Taunton died Thursday at his home.
Born in Boston, raised in Bridgewater, he was a graduate of Bridgewater High School.

Mr. Raleigh served with the U.S. Navy Seabees during the Vietnam War, and received the Bronze Star.

He was a machinist for the Boston Globe for more than 25 years, retiring in 2001, and was also a mason.

Mr. Raleigh had been a 30 year resident of Taunton.

He enjoyed guns and was a member of the National Rifle Assoc.

Mr. Raleigh is survived by two brothers, Robert S. Raleigh of Lubec, Maine, and Harry D. Raleigh of West Bridgewater; a sister, Carolyn Farris of Falmouth; and many nieces and nephews. He was also brother to the late John S. Jr. and James B. Raleigh.

His funeral services and burial will be private. Arrangements are by Prophett Funeral Home, Bridgewater.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
