Obituary

LACONIA ---- Norman Carl Dahlbo, 87, of Laconia, NH, passed away at home on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Born on August 19, 1937, in Boston, MA, to Gustav and Edla Dahlbo, Norman lived a life characterized by hard work, straight talk, and a whole lot of laughs.

A proud veteran, Norm served six years in the U.S. Air Force and spent two decades as a Seabee in the Naval Reserves. He loved military aircraft—especially those from World War II—and could spend hours talking about their engineering, history, and the role they played in shaping the world.

Professionally, Norm was a cement mason with Boston Local 534 and worked for many years with New England Decks. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and was always quick to offer a hand when someone needed concrete work done. A natural handyman, he was never far from a project.

Norm enjoyed life—riding his Harley in his earlier years, playing golf, and cheering for New England sports teams with his signature colorful commentary. But what truly defined him was the way he showed up for people. He spent the last decade devotedly caring for his wife, embodying quiet strength and unwavering love. Above all, Norm was a good man. The kind you could have a beer with—quick to listen, slow to judge, but always told it like it was.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 45 years, Patricia Dahlbo, who passed away in February 2025. He was also predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Ann Stoyle and Linda Hale.

Together, Norman and Patricia built a life full of love, laughter, and devotion that shaped their family and everyone fortunate enough to know them.

Norm is survived by his children: Kim Devore and her husband, Josh, Terry O’Brien, Tom Dahlbo and his wife, Flo, and his stepdaughter, Cindy Goucher. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Matt O’Brien and his wife, Renee, Mark O’Brien and his partner, Sabrina Noury, Csky Silva and her husband, Murillo, and Kyra, Toni, and Lyla Goucher. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: William, Julian, Wesley, and Camilla. Lastly, he will be missed by Axel, his little buddy and Valerie, his faithful feline.

A Celebration of Norm's Life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11:00am at Lakes Region Bible Church, 95 Zion Hill Road, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Lakes Region Bible Church.
