Richard Caraviello passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on June 3rd. He was 93. Born in Boston and raised in Medford, Richard was the son of the late Salvatore and Maria (Contrada) Caraviello.
Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was proud of being from Medford and honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was the proprietor of Salvy’s Sportswear, where he oversaw the manufacture and sale of women’s clothing for many decades.
The beloved husband of the late Angela (Mosko) Caraviello, and Mildred Trifiro, Richard was a devoted father to Richard Caraviello and his wife Carol. He was a loving grandfather to Richard Caraviello and his wife Lisa, Lauren Mongiello and her husband Joey, and Nicole Gaudette and her husband Stephen. He was a loving great grandfather to Gianna, Joey, Richie, Nicholas, Giuliana, Isabella, James and Michael. Richard was a dear brother to the late Fred, Salvatore, Frank, Tina, Clara and Armand. He is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, June 7 from 9 – 11 AM, followed by a prayer service in the funeral home at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
