James Knowles Hosford III, of Medway formerly of Franklin died suddenly May 17, 2025, at his home.
Born in Milford, December 13, 1960, the son of James K. Hosford Jr. of Franklin and the late Sandra (Pisani) Hosford, Jim was raised in Franklin and had lived there until moving to Medway three years ago.
He was a graduate of Franklin High School.
Jim had worked as a contractor in the Franklin area for many years and was widely regarded as a top roofer in town. He also had a passion for small engines – there wasn’t a machine he couldn’t bring back to life.
He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and spending time outside with friends.
In addition to his father he is survived by his children, Kailee Savage-Rule of Palmer, MA, Seth Hosford of California and Elora Hosford of Old Saybrook, Connecticut.
He is also survived by his siblings, Joe and wife Tracey Hosford of Franklin, Todd and wife Christine Hosford of Bellingham, Devi Hosford of Nantucket, and Tom and wife Keli Hosford of Bellingham. Jim also leaves behind a niece and many nephews.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4-6 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, (ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin.
