CHICOPEE – Joyce M. (Bordeau) Chartier, 74, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, June 1, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on September 26, 1950 a beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Francis) Bordeau. She was raised and educated in the Willimansett section of Chicopee and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a Certified Nurse Aide at the Holyoke Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Joyce was a Girl Scout Leader and a member of the Moose Family Center, all in Chicopee. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting was an avid bowler, and playing cards, especially gin rummy. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Donald A. Chartier. They were married on June 20, 1980 and were blessed with over 44 years of happiness together. She also leaves her three loving and devoted children, Dana A. Bordeau of Chicopee, Jessica E. Chartier and her partner, Craig Nothe, of Belchertown, and Nicholas J. Chartier and his wife, Tina Tetreault, of Chicopee; her seven cherished grandchildren, Jillian Bordeau, Dustin Rose, Tyler Nothe, Kayleigh Nothe, Sophia Nothe, Tyler Chartier, and Brayden Chartier; her cherished great granddaughter, Lena Lagac; her dear sister, Beverly Bissonnette of Wells, ME; her three dear brothers, Gary Bordeau of Florida, Kevin Bordeau and his wife, Carol, of Chicopee, and Keith Bordeau and his wife, Rebecca, of Warren; her two dear sisters-in-law, Carol Bordeau of Vermont and Claire Bordeau of Palmer; her very special friend and caregiver, Julie; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. She will be deeply missed by her little canine companion, her “lap dog” Daisy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Rena Lavalley; and her four brothers, Malcolm, George, Douglas, and Robert Bordeau. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at LifePoint Church, 603 New Ludlow Road, Chicopee, MA 01020.
