Gary L. Priest, 60, of Westport, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 30, 2025 at home. He was the husband of Rebecca L. (Cole) Priest. They shared 22 years of marriage.
Gary was born in Fall River, son of Mary G. (Lewis) Priest of Westport and the late Roland Priest. He had been a lifelong resident of Westport. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a software engineer for Purvis Systems, Middletown. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, and gardening. Gary loved animals, especially his chickens.
Survivors along with his wife and mother include his 2 children: Meaghan A. Priest and Jared N. Priest, both of Westport; 2 brothers: Thomas Priest of Westport and James Priest of Newport; 3 sisters: Susan Velozo and her husband Richard of Lake Wales, FL, Gloria Fournier of New Bedford, and Claire Warren of New Bedford; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Kevin Priest.
We will be holding a remembrance gathering on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Amicable Congregational Church, Tiverton starting at 10:00 A.M. There will be food, laughter, and memories shared – just the way he would have wanted.
Interment will be private.
