Obituary

Iris Violeta Rodriguez passed away peacefully and quietly surrounded by her loving family. Iris was born on August 8, 1954 to the late Pedro and Lourdes Rodriguez, in Bani, Dominican Republic. While in the Dominican Republic she received her degrees in education and was a professor for 10 years, before moving to Boston, Ma in the U.S. She dedicated her life to educating anyone that wanted to learn what she had to teach. She is survived by daughters Maria Claribel Vicente Rodriguez, Judith Kenia Vicente and Iris Josefina Perez, as well as son Frivian Freddy Vicente Rodriguez. Her eldest daughter is the late Iris Marisol Vicente Rodriguez
and 4 cherished great grandchildren (Eddie, Amaijha, Dahlina, Arianna). She was a patient, loving, understanding and very caring mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is also survived by sisters Carmen Rodriguez, Berenice Rodriguez; brothers Miguel Angel Rodriguez, Pedro A Rodriguez, Arioto A Rodriguez, Juan Carlos Rodriguez, Francisco A Rodriguez, Pedro L Rodriguez, 10 grandchildren (Bledis, Shaquira, Michael, Frean, Osvaldo, Ozana, Willy, Angel, Jenese, Jehlainy) and 4 great grandchildren (Eddie, Amaijha, Dahlina, Arianna). She was a patient, loving, understanding and very caring mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother. After battling metastatic cancer for 8 years, she passed at the age of 70, quietly in her sleep surrounded by her loving children. She will always be loved and deeply deeply missed. 1 Corinthians 13 describes what love is, our mother taught us what love is.

Iris Violeta Rodríguez nació el 8 de Agosto del 1954 a los difuntos Pedro y Lourdes Rodríguez, en Baní, República Dominicana. Durante su estancia en la República Dominicana, se graduó con varios grados en educación y fue profesora por 10 años, antes de mudarse a Boston, Massachusetts, en los Estados Unidos. Dedicó su vida a educar a todo aquel que quisiera aprender lo que ella enseñaba. Es sobrevivida por sus hijas María Claribel Vicente Rodríguez, Judith Kenia Vicente e Iris Josefina Pérez, así como su hijo Frivian Freddy Vicente Rodríguez. Su hija mayor es la difunta Iris Marisol Vicente Rodríguez.

También le sobreviven sus hermanas Carmen Rodríguez y Berenice Rodríguez; sus hermanos Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, Pedro A. Rodríguez, Arioto A. Rodríguez, Juan Carlos Rodríguez, Francisco A. Rodríguez y Pedro L. Rodríguez; sus 10 nietos (Bledis, Shaquira, Michael, Frean, Osvaldo, Ozana, Willy, Ángel, Jenese y Jehlainy) y sus 4 bisnietos (Eddie, Amaijha, Dahlina y Arianna). Fue una madre, esposa, abuela y bisabuela paciente, amorosa, comprensiva y muy atenta. Despues de ocho años de lucha contra el cáncer metastásico, falleció a los 70 años, tranquilamente mientras dormía, rodeada de sus queridos hijos. Siempre la amaremos y la extrañaremos profundamente. 1 Corintios 13 describe lo que es el amor; nuestra madre nos lo enseñó.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing hours on Saturday June 7, 2025 from 10-11 AM followed by a Religious Service from 11-12:30 PM in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale, MA. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Ave, Jamaica Plain, MA
