David William Watson
3/11/1987-5/25/2025
David William Watson, age 38, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on March 11, 1987, David was the beloved son of Deborah Spurgas Watson and her late husband, William T. Watson. He is survived by his two children, Ryland and Oakley Watson; his sister Christine Recupero along with her husband Josh, their children and David's nephews, Joshua and Jacob. David’s "rock" and "little" sister, Hannah Watson. Also survived by his son's mother and confidant, Denise Lopes. David leaves behind many adored aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
David’s childhood was filled with adventure, especially during the summers spent on Clark’s Island with his siblings and cousins. There, his love for the outdoors blossomed—whether it was foraging clams for Punkie’s fritters, picking wild berries, ferrying “the picnic”, trips to the creek, bonfires at the point, or celebrating the 4th. The island’s magic made him feel young, wild, and free. One of his most cherished memories was the day his father first trusted him to take trips with his Boston Whaler to French Memories bakery—a small moment that meant the world to him.
Like his mother, David had a deep appreciation for plants and nature. He was strong and sensitive, with a nurturing spirit. His home was always full of life—vibrant with greenery, curated with care, and marked by his distinct sense of style. He loved gardening and spent many hours helping his mother and late grandparents in the yard.
David poured his heart into every craft he pursued. He was a meticulous landscaper, skilled carpenter, roofer, and dedicated worker in everything he did. His passion extended beyond work—he loved snowboarding in the winters up north, cooking for family, fishing, golfing, and watching sports, especially football and UFC.
David’s warmth was undeniable. His smile and sparkling eyes could light up any room, and his quick wit could make anyone laugh. His presence was magnetic, and his love for life was infectious.
David’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his children, Ryland and Oakley, who will carry forward his warmth, humor, and adventurous spirit. His family and friends will forever treasure the memories they shared with him, finding comfort in knowing that his love and laughter will continue to inspire and uplift them. David’s presence may be gone, but his spirit will remain in every life he touched.
A memorial service will be held at St. Bonaventure Parish, 803 State Road, Plymouth, MA, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 10am.
