Obituary

WORCESTER_ Matthew G. Flood, 67, of Worcester, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 26, 2025, in UMass Memorial Hospital, University Campus. He leaves his wife of thirty-six years, Teresa (Thomas) Flood and his son Sean Flood. He is also survived by his siblings, Evelyn Judge of Merrick, NY; William Flood and his wife Carol of Holbrook, NY, Daniel Flood and his wife Bet of Mahwah, NJ and Kevin Flood and his wife Lori of New City, NY; several nieces and nephews and friends.
Mr. Flood was raised in Merrick, New York and after graduation served in the US Navy. After attending Johnson and Wales College, he worked in the food industry for several years. He worked at St. Vincent Hospital, maintenance for the past twenty years. Dedicated to his family, he also enjoyed all sports, Matthew was a loyal New York sports fan. He loved all kinds of music, especially Billy Joel. Matt had a wonderful sense of humor and the “Irish gift of gab.” He was kind, outgoing, always having a smile to share and a helping hand to others.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. Burial will be at a later date in New York.
