Alan R. Manchester, 76, of Dartmouth, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Rhode Island Hospital after an extended illness. He was the husband of the late Paula (Mailloux) Manchester, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.
Mr. Manchester was born in Fall River, the son of the late Arthur and Rose (Carvalho) Manchester and had resided in Dartmouth for over 40 years. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a project manager for Lima Construction in Dartmouth. Building was something he truly took pride in. His love of the Red Sox and Patriots ran deep. He enjoyed gardening and loved taking trips to New Hampshire especially with his family whom he truly loved. He was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport.
Survivors include his 4 sons: Douglas A. Manchester and his wife Lesha of New Bedford, Craig R. Manchester and his wife Tanya of New Bedford, Jamie J. Manchester and his wife Carrie of New Bedford and Timothy J. Manchester and his wife Alison of Waterford, CT; a sister: Debra Hill of Dartmouth; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Susanne Nolet.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:30 A.M.
Calling hours Monday from 5-8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
