Obituary

Penelope A. Hansen, 62, of Medway, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Whitney Willow Place in Medway, with her loving family by her side, after a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

She leaves behind her cherished children, Caitlin M. Moschella and Samuel M. Moschella.

Born in Waltham on November 27, 1962, Penny was the beloved daughter of the late Wayne and Barbara (Baxter) Hansen. She was raised in Millis and was a proud graduate of Millis High School, Class of 1981. She went on to earn her associate’s degree from Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire in 1983.

Penny made her home in Medway beginning in 1990 and was a devoted member of the community. She worked for Hansen Electrical Supply for 27 years and previously was employed by a Boston law firm.

She took great joy in being involved in her children’s lives and activities as they grew up. Nantucket Island, where she spent many summers as a child and teenager, held a special place in her heart. She continued the tradition of summer visits to the island with her own family, creating lasting memories.

Penny will be remembered for her warm heart and her contagious smile that could light up a room.

Besides her children, she is survived by her sister Pamela (Hansen) and her husband Stephen Sette, her brother Rodney Hansen and his wife Sharon (McCracken), her brother Jeffrey Hansen and his wife Lisa (LaRocca), her sister Lauren (Hansen) and Thomas McNamara (predeceased) and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, June 3 from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. at the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway ginleyfuneralhomes.com
