Rose D. (Forcina) English, age 92, a resident of the Village at Willow Crossings in Mansfield, formerly of Canton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the Hope Health Hospice Center in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late James F. English, to whom she was wed for forty-nine years at the time of death on September 23, 2011.

Born in Somerville, MA on July 2, 1932, she was a loving daughter of the late Nicola F. and Frances (Tuccelli) Forcina.

A woman deeply dedicated to her adoring family, friends and God, Rose grew-up in a tight-knit Italian family in Somerville and was a 1950 graduate of Somerville High School. For thirteen years, she worked as a bookkeeper at the certified public accounting firm of Forcina & Associates in Winchester and was also formerly employed at Industrial Stainless Steel in Cambridge, in bookkeeping as well.

Rose had made her home in Mansfield for the past twelve years, was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and a member of the Hospitality Committee at Willow Crossings. She had previously resided for over fifty years in Canton and was a faithful parishioner of Saint John the Evangelist Church and actively involved in the Canton Community.

Mrs. English was quite proud of her conversion to Catholicism in her early 20’s. At Saint John’s Church, she served as a Eucharistic Minister, was a member of the Altar Guild and brought communion to those unable to attend church services. Rose was a member and formerly served as president, vice-president and treasurer of the Saint Catherine of Sienna Sons of Italy in Canton. She was also a member of the Canton Catholic Community Club and volunteered her assistance with the Canton Girl Scouts. Rose had a love for traveling and could always be counted on to help others, regardless of the situation.

She is survived by her devoted daughters, Roseann E. Boucher and her husband Ron of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Susan M. McCormack and her husband Dan of Mansfield and Karen F. Eldridge and her husband George of Plainville. She was the cherished grandmother of Lauren, Daniel, James, Nicole and Ryan. She was dear sister of Anita Coffin of Lexington and Raymond Forcina of Stoneham. She is also survived by her much-loved nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
