LACONIA----Sue K. Grant, age 85, peacefully transitioned to her eternal home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 after a brief illness.
Sue was born on November 18, 1939, in Madisonville, Kentucky, to Roy and Othello Russell. In May of 1955, she moved to New Hampshire in search of a better life, and shortly thereafter met the love of her life, Joseph H. Grant. They wed in November of that year and spent 58 years of marriage together before Joseph was called home to be with the Lord in 2013.
Sue was well known for her creative spirit. She expressed her passion for art through her paintings and through ceramics, even owning her own ceramic studio at one point. She also expressed herself through her love of gardening, and took pride in the fact that she developed several new breeds of day lilies. Her gardens reflected the care and time she put into them, and many had the pleasure of experiencing the beauty and peace they provided. Sue enjoyed cooking as well, incorporating many of the vegetables she grew into her culinary creations. She also was known to love spending time in Maine with her sister, Ruth.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Othello Russell, her husband, Joseph Grant, her sister Jonell Kuzma, and her sister Geneva Gasper. She is survived by her brothers, Jerome Russell and James Russell; sister Ruth Flynn (Russell); sons, Gary Grant and Stephen Grant; three grandchildren Faith Kapuscinski (Grant), Benjamin Grant, and Nicole Pinette (Grant); six great-grandchildren, and twelve nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11:00am at the Laconia Salvation Army, 177 Union Ave, Laconia. Flowers are welcome, as Sue had such a love for them.
