Nettie "Duck" Rudene Johnson, 75, of Winter Haven, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025.
Born on May 18, 1949, in Adel, Georgia, she was a cherished daughter, beloved mother, and doting grandmother. Nettie's warmth and vivacious spirit touched the lives of many and will remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Nettie was preceded in death by her father, Leo Frank Johnson, her mother, Clydie (Parr) Johnson, and her dear sister Christine Peeples.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Tracy Harper; her beloved grandchildren, including the late Stanley Mintz; her sister Vivian (Randall) Dowdy; her brother Melvin (Debbie) Johnson; as well as many great nieces and nephews who brought joy to her life.
Throughout her life, Nettie was known for her kindness, generosity, and infectious sense of humor. A lover of jokes, it was said that she could brighten any room with her laughter. Although she had a fondness for food, she humorously confessed to hating chicken. Her passions extended beyond laughter; she found joy in sewing, singing, and dancing, activities that reflected her vibrant personality.
A graveside service to celebrate Nettie's life will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Old Valley Grove Cemetery in Ocilla, Georgia, at 2 PM. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor her memory and share in the love she so freely gave. Nettie's legacy of kindness and joy will forever be remembered by her loved ones, and though she has left this world, her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.
