Obituary

John F. Robinson of Dedham, formerly of Brighton, a retired Boston Fire Fighter and Navy Veteran, passed away on August 18, 2006 at the Highgate Manor Nursing Home in Dedham. He was 80. Mr. Robinson was born in Boston in 1926 and was the son of the late John and Ruth (Tisch) Robinson.

Mr. Robinson was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran. During his time in the service he received the WW II Victory Medal, the American Theatre Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal.

He lived in Dedham for over 20 years and worked as a Fire Fighter for the City of Boston for over 40 years. He retired in 1989.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary C. (Brady) Robinson. He was the devoted father of John F. Robinson Jr. and his wife Maryanne of Braintree, Patricia A. Morrison and her husband James of Dedham and Richard P. Robinson and his wife Corrine of Dedham. He was the grandfather of Amanda Robinson, Jennifer, James and Christine Morrison and Jessica, Vanessa and Richard Robinson Jr. He was the brother of the late Richard P. and Dorothy Robinson.

His funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Tuesday at 8:00 AM. His funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4-8 PM. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. Donations may be made to the St. Columbkille Alumni Association, 225 Arlington St., Brighton, MA 02135.
