In Loving Memory of Karl Babcock
Karl Babcock, age 72, of Rockland, MA, passed away peacefully at home on May 25, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born and raised in Weymouth, MA, Karl built a successful career as a real estate appraiser, running his own business with integrity and dedication.
Beyond his professional life, Karl was a soulful craftsman who transformed raw wood into stunning works of art and cherished heirlooms. His workshop was more than just a place to work, it was a sanctuary of creativity and care, where every piece told a story.
Music was another great love of Karl’s life. A passionate musician, he played keyboard in several local bands including Kashmir and the Chowdah Boys, sharing his joy and talent with friends and fellow music lovers.
Karl will be remembered not only for his artistry, but for his kindness, gentle spirit, and the quiet strength with which he touched so many lives.
He is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Barbara Babcock of Weymouth. He is survived by his daughter Joanne Cicchetti and her husband Steve and his granddaughters, Colleen and Chloe.
He also leaves behind his siblings Laurie Babcock, Gary Babcock, Lainie Flipp, and Kathy Gordon, as well as one niece and seven nephews who will carry on his legacy.
Karl’s devoted partner, Trish Cummings, provided steadfast love and support, guiding him with grace on his final journey. He will also be deeply missed by his dear friends and neighbors, Steve and Marlys Bradford who were like family.
In honor of Karl’s memory, the family asks that donations be made to Beacon Hospice Care, Plymouth, MA.
