Obituary

WEBSTER – Dorothy A. (Klejna) Sabaj, 96, died Friday, May 23, 2025 in her home in the presence of her family. Her husband of 44 years, Henry J. Sabaj, died in 1995.

She leaves 4 daughters, Paula A. Smith and her husband Robert of Boylston, Elizabeth R. Sabaj and Susan Sabaj with whom she lived, and Christine Shore and her husband S. Mark Shore of Dudley; 4 grandchildren, Nicole Gulden and her husband Dusty of Salem, VA, Rachel Pradella and her husband Battista of Boylston, Alexandra Shore and her husband Johannes Jungschaffer of Cambridge, and Andrew Shore of Worcester; 2 great-grandsons, Odin and Orion Gulden; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Frank Klejna.

A lifelong resident, she was born on March 9, 1929, the daughter of Leon J. and Helen F. (Kozub) Klejna and graduated from Bartlett High School in 1947. She completed the course of study at Ward Business School in Worcester.

Mrs. Sabaj worked as an office clerk for many years at Webster Spring Company, first in Webster and then in Oxford, retiring in 1994.

She was a communicant of Saint Joseph Basilica and belonged to the Holy Rosary Sodality, the Sacred Heart Society and the Saint Ann Society. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and watching sports.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 31, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Visitation will be held Friday, May 30, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
