Obituary

Marie “Terry” T. Fregeau (Archambeault), 97, passed away peacefully of natural causes on May 21, 2025. Marie was born on May 10, 1928 in Chicopee, MA to the late Rudolph and Lillian "Mary" (Lapine) Archambeault. After her father’s passing in 1939, she was raised by her mother and step-father, Darius Comtois. Marie worked for New England Telephone before running the former Moonlight Inn in Chicopee and Al’s Lunch on Springfield Street with her late husband. Marie was an avid ballroom dancer, having excelled in lessons at the former Frank Lally Dance Studio in Chicopee. She also enjoyed traveling to Florida. A devout Catholic, Marie was a lifelong parishioner of Assumption Church in Chicopee until its closing. Having lived across from the parish, she never missed an opportunity to send one of her sons over to help the priest. Raising five altar boys was no easy task. Marie leaves behind five sons: Michael and his wife, Terry, of Southwick; Robert of Springfield; Paul and his wife, Mary, of Springfield; David and his wife, Adriana, of Florida; and Thomas and his wife, Maureen, of Chicopee. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Michelle, Mathew, Joel, Alex, Sarah, Nicole, and John; six great-grandchildren, Hayley, Emily, Isabelle, Samantha, Toñito, and Violet; and her nephew, Joe “Butch” Cembura Jr. She was predeceased by the love of her life and husband of 69 years, Fernand “Al” Fregeau; her sister, Lucia Cembura; and her son, Kenneth Fregeau, in infancy. All services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary’s Parish School in Westfield, where her great-granddaughters attend.
