Doris R. LaCasse, 80, of 44 Taylor St. died August 30, 2002 in Lakes Region General Hospital. A lifelong resident of Laconia, she was born here on February 14, 1922, the daughter of Alphonse and Roseanna (Chateauneuf) Ouellette.
Prior to her retirement in 1986, she was employed at the Laconia Shoe Company as a stitcher for more than 48 years. Mrs. LaCasse was a communicant of Sacred Heart parish.
A devoted and loving mother and grandmother her family affectionately knew her as “Memere”. Her husband, George O. LaCasse died in 1991. In addition she was pre-deceased by two brothers, Omer Ouellette and Ernest Ouellette and two sisters, Beatrice Perry and Cecile Groleau.
Family members include a son, George J. LaCasse and his wife, Brenda of Colchester VT; two grandchildren, Josh LaCasse, a student at Fordham University in New York City and Jamie Rose LaCasse of Colchester VT; many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. on Monday form 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue on Tuesday at 10 AM. Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor was the celebrant. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of NH, 66 Hanover St., Suite 101, Manchester NH 03301-2230. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber were the funeral directors.
