Windham/Bar Mills – Howard Alden Meserve Jr., 74, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025 surrounded by family.
He grew up in Buxton along the Saco River, where he enjoyed swimming, hunting, fishing, and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He graduated from Bonny Eagle High School and SMVTI’s automotive program.
He was an honest hardworking man that loved his career in the metal plating business where he was well respected for his knowledge of the trade. He was proud of his success and enjoyed talking about it. He began his career and love for electroplating working for the Gannett family, he returned and finished working for Stuart in recent years; enjoying every day he spent there.
He was an automobile enthusiast and spent a significant amount of his life attending and driving at local racetracks. He was a walking encyclopedia for vintage racing at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway and always enjoyed conversations about the drivers and events he experienced in his father’s era.
He was often seen with Shelby, his cherished black lab.
His sense of humor and generosity with those he loved were qualities of his personality, living life on his own terms – with love, laughter and endless curiosity. He will be remembered always and missed beyond measure by all who were blessed to know him.
He is predeceased by his parents- Howard Sr. and Roberta (Lang) Meserve.
He is survived by the love of his life of 40 years- Brenda Morse; his children- Jesse Meserve and Lacey Castro; siblings- Stacy Meserve, Randy Meserve, and Mike Meserve; and two grandchildren.
Burial will be private at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Hollis. The family invites you to honor his life in your own way as we know he will be with us in spirit.
