Louis Dante Cannistraro, age 93, formerly of Naples, Florida, Bedford, MA, West Newton, MA and Tewksbury, Massachusetts, passed away on May 19, 2025.
He was the beloved husband of Mary A. (Manning) Cannistraro, who passed away in 2003.
Born in Waltham MA, he was one of four boys of the late Salvatore and Vincenza (DiMatteo) Cannistraro.
He enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant.
After serving in the Marine Corp, he joined Star Market as a meat cutter and rose to the rank of an executive (district meat manager), retiring in 1995 after 38 years at Star Market.
Lou was a Charter Member of the Tewksbury Son’s of Italy, Lodge 2872 and served as a Master of Ceremony and Trustee.
Lou loved his family, enjoyed watching sports, golfing with his buddies, fine dining and dancing.
He is survived by his three children, Sandra Cannistraro of Tewksbury and her significant other, Peter Goyette of Lowell, Paula Lordan and her husband Brian of Lunenburg, Matthew Cannistraro and his wife Linda of Deerfield, NH: two beloved granddaughters, Kara and Megan Lordan: two nieces and one nephew and his longtime sweetheart Pat Cagnina.
He was predeceased by his brother Francis Cannistraro and his wife Diane and brothers, Charles and Joseph Cannistraro.
Private Services will be held.
