Obituary

Mary Rose (Smith) Pickford, aged 76, of Douglas, MA, passed away peacefully on May 2nd, at Atria Draper Place in Hopedale, MA after a battle with Lewy Bodies Dementia. She was born on August 14, 1948, in Malvern, England. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack D. Pickford.

Mary immigrated to the United States in 1980 and moved to Franklin, MA. Mary was an enthusiastic animal lover. She loved all animals but had a fondness for cats, especially her beloved cat Emma. Emma was her constant companion and always would be found by her side. Mary held several different jobs throughout her life, but she loved working for Brian Moore Tours, formerly in Medway, MA and after moving to Florida, she found her most rewarding position as Receptionist at Bon Secours Nursing Home in Port Charlotte, FL.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Karen (Malen) Davis and her husband Wayne of Douglas, MA. Her two Grandson’s Cameron M. and Benjamin C., both of Douglas, MA. Her two nephews, Mark and Carl Gent and niece, Clare Ramdehal of Malvern, England. She is predeceased by her former husband, Frederick A. Malen, her son, Steven A. Malen, loving parents, Sidney, and Loris Smith and her two brothers, Colin and David Gent.

A Graveside service will be held at Oakland Cemetery, Medway, MA on May 31st at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers a donation in her memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, local Humane Society, St. Jude’s Hospital or to Faith and Family Hospice, Marlborough, MA.
