Robert “Bobby” Driscoll passed away peacefully Monday evening, May 19th, 2025, surrounded by his wife and children in Milton after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Bobby was a true Brocktonian, born and raised in the city of Brockton to his father Robert and his mother Eleanor. He followed in his parents’ footsteps and raised his two boys in the same city. Known by “Drip” to his friends, Bobby attended Brockton High School, where he excelled at football, golf, and hockey. He then moved on to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in finance. Soon after college, he was employed by General Dynamics, where he stayed for almost 40 years, meeting some of his lifelong friends. Bobby met his wife Beth after college and got married in the fall of 1997. Soon after, they moved back to Brockton to start a family of their own.
In his free time, Bobby was a member of Thorny Lea Golf Club in Brockton and would always take an opportunity to go out on the tee after work and play the inside nine at dusk. Bobby also loved his “third child,” Tank, his dog, and the two were inseparable. Tank was a constant companion and source of comfort for him. Bobby took great joy in the simple pleasures in life, and it did not take much to keep him happy. When it came to planning summer vacations, Bobby’s common response was “Let’s just go to the Cape”. It was a place of beauty and relaxation for him, and he found himself lucky that he lived so close. Bobby will be best remembered for his devotion and loyalty to his family. No matter the circumstance, they came first. His quick wit, as well as his patience and kindness towards others, were his biggest and most shining attributes. Even in the face of all the adversity he dealt with, he maintained his positive spirit to the very end, being more focused on his family and even using humor when facing the situation in front of him.
Bobby is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Beth (Donegan) Driscoll of Brockton; his two children, Patrick Driscoll of Tallahassee, FL, and Connor Driscoll of Brockton; his sister, Janise (Driscoll) Regan of Des Moines, IA; his brother, Kenneth Driscoll of Brockton; his loving in laws, Melanie and Donald Donegan of Worcester; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Eleanor (Delea) Driscoll, his father Robert Driscoll, and his sister Kathleen (Driscoll) Kazanowski.
Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Greene Cancer Center of Brockton, Beth Israel in Boston, and AccentCare in Milton for all their support and help in fighting Bobby’s illness.
