WEST SPRINGFIELD – Liza Koufopoulos, 82, of West Springfield and a longtime resident of Boston, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Larissa, Greece on April 24, 1943, a beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Dimitra (Manolopoulou) Binios. She was raised and educated in Greece and came to Boston in 1967 where she received her Certificate in Hair and Cosmetology from the Mansfield Beauty Academy. She moved to West Springfield in 1986 where she lived the remainder of her life. Liza enjoyed cooking, fashion and beauty, and was an avid reader. Most of all, she was an amazing woman who took great pride in raising and taking care of her family. She was a communicant of Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Springfield. She leaves her beloved husband, Dimitrios Koufopoulos of West Springfield; her two loving and devoted children, Angela Koufopoulos and her partner, Ron DaSilva, of New Britain, CT, and John Koufopoulos and his wife, Shanele, of Ludlow; her dear nephew, John Koutsoufis; and many extended family members in Greece. She was predeceased by her brother, Andreas Binios and her sister, Nikolitsa Koutsoufis. Liza will Lie in Repose on Wednesday morning, May 28, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. which will be followed by a Funeral Service at 10 a.m. at Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2320 Main Street, Springfield, MA 01107. Her burial will follow the Service at Reservoir Cemetery, 1870 Center Street, Ludlow, MA 01056.
