Laura L. Mello, 84, of Glocester, RI passed away peacefully on Saturday May 17th surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Arthur E. Mello, Jr. They had been married for 28 years.
Born in Worcester, MA, a daughter of the late Frank J. and Priscilla ( Abatantuono ) Ferraro. She recently resided in Glocester, previously living most of her life in North Providence. She had been an office manager for St. Ann’s Church in Providence for most of her career. She loved to cook and bake Italian food, spending plenty of time at the beach with her family, gardening and going for daily walks. Her family was the most important thing in her life and included not only her siblings, children and grandchildren but her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she considered part of her family. She was known for many holiday traditions and enjoyed sharing them with everyone. She was a very faithful and devout Roman Catholic and enjoyed going to weekly mass with her children and grandchildren. She was loved by everyone who she came in contact throughout her life and will be sorely missed by all.
She leaves her children, Lori J. Conaty of Lincoln, Arthur A. Mello and his wife Elissa of North Providence and Matthew E. Mello and his wife Jenna of Glocester. She was the grandmother of 6, Arthur, Emily, Brendan, Kevin, Mattea and Massimo. She was the sister of Camille Kelley of Oregon City, OR and Michael Ferraro of Minneapolis, MN. She was the sister of the late John, Frank and Joseph Ferraro.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday May 22nd at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, Riverside, RI 02915 Visitation will be held Wednesday May 21st from 4-7pm
